Eye Diseases We Treat & Manage

We care for patients with chronic eye conditions that require more than a routine vision exam. Some of the most common conditions we manage include:

  • Diabetic Retinopathy—in-office dilation and retinal exams for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
  • Glaucoma—pressure checks, visual field testing, and OCT imaging to track optic nerve health.
  • Macular Degeneration—monitoring for dry and wet AMD, including early detection.
  • Cataracts—evaluation of lens changes and referral support for surgery when needed.
  • Dry Eye Disease—medical treatment for chronic dryness and inflammation.

These services are available for new and established patients in Conyers, Covington, Smyrna, and surrounding communities.

How Often Should You Schedule Care?

There’s no one-size-fits-all schedule. The frequency of your appointments depends on your diagnosis, risk level, and the stability of your condition.

Some patients with early-stage glaucoma or diabetic eye changes may need to come in every three to six months. Others with stable test results may only need an annual follow-up.

Signs You May Need an Eye Disease Evaluation

You may not always notice when something is changing in your eye health. That is why we often detect conditions such as glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy through routine imaging before symptoms appear.

Still, certain warning signs should prompt an earlier exam. You may want to schedule a visit if you have noticed:

  • Blurry or fluctuating vision
  • Trouble seeing at night or adjusting to light changes
  • Increased floaters or flashing lights in your vision
  • Pressure or discomfort in one or both eyes
  • Vision loss in one eye or narrowing of side vision
  • You have diabetes and haven’t had an eye exam in over a year
  • You are over 60 and have not had a recent retinal or macular evaluation

If any of these apply to you, or if you have just never had a thorough eye health screening. We are here to take a closer look and help you stay ahead of long-term issues.

Testing & Monitoring Tools We Use

We provide in-house imaging and evaluations to track disease progression over time:

  • OCT Imaging—for early changes in the retina, macula, or optic nerve.
  • Visual Field Testing—for detecting peripheral vision loss in glaucoma.
  • Dilated Eye Exams—for patients with diabetes or age-related macular degeneration.
  • Retinal Photography—for annual diabetic eye health evaluations.
  • Lens Assessments—for cataract progression.

These diagnostic tools are available at both our Walmart-based offices and are reviewed during your visit.
